Spellbinder A Shadow Falls Novella eBook C C Hunter
My girl Miranda FINALLY gets to show her point of view. Whooo Hooooo!!Miranda is probably the most overlooked character in the series. People probably write her off, but she is has a lot of layers. Deep, deep, DEEP down. HAHAHAHA... seriously.... she may give off the impression of a hyper and super easy going girl, but she has had a lot to deal with. However, I can only hold my book close to give her sympathy and her life takes several nose dives. The poor girl just can't seem to catch a break.
Anyone who has had their heart tramped with a herd of elephants can feel her pain. Then let's tag on her older issues with her parents and her mom's expectations. Plus her Dyslexia effecting her abilities. Fast forward to her trip to France where even more issues rear their ugly heads and things get dangerous.
This series is one of my all time favorites, and C.C. never lets it become stale or boring. The writing is fresh, meaningful, witty, gripping and I could binge read this all week.
If you haven't read the series, then start with book one, Born at Midnight. You will get hooked. It's like crack. Well... since I've never done that, I say its like chocolate. Or bacon. You can not put it down, all willpower to stop is gone and you can't get enough. YUM!
Needless to say that I will be slightly hysterical in my glee when the next book comes out.

Spellbinder A Shadow Falls Novella eBook C C Hunter Reviews
I fall more and more in love with this series of books every day. I read Born at Midnight because it was on sale and was instantly hooked. I loved reading about Kylie, Della and Miranda. Kylie's story is finished and Della's is almost complete, so a peek inside of Miranda's story was fun.
Now, I really want more Miranda. This novella was a fun read! There were twists I wasn't expecting at all. There were also a few unexpected laugh out loud parts. A lot of the main cast from both Kylie's and Della's books made an appearance.
If you have enjoyed any books from the Shadow Falls world, then this is a must read. I sincerely hope C.C. Hunter has plans to explore Miranda more! Highly recommend to young adults, new adults and adults. There is a little bit of great story for any age.
Spellbinder by C.C. Hunter gets five glittery stars for once again, being a great Shadow Falls addition!
There is no other way to start this than by saying this was AMAZING!!!!! I loved it!!!! If you haven't given these series a chance, you've got to. Or if you don't want to pick this story up because it's just a short story your going to miss out on some serious crap hitting the fan. Even though this is only a short story it jam packed with so much stuff. Such as, a magic competition (who wouldn't want to see that?), kidnappings, murders, friendships, and love. Plus some new characters that I hope to see again in the future (cough, cough, hint, hint).
I love that we got to see inside Miranda's mind for a little bit. I mean we got to see into Kylie's mind in the first series, Della's in the second series. We even get to see inside Chase's. And now we finally got to see what all is going on in Miranda's little world.
One of my favorite things about this story was, we got to see how strong Miranda's powers really are. She has always kinda felt like the loser of the friends. Kylie has her amazing Protectors powers, plus her chameleon powers. Della has her new super strong super fast vampire skills. And next to that Miranda has always felt like a screw up, so I was super excited to see her kinda be the one to kick butt in this.
Miranda goes through some serious heart break in this with her family and Perry, but I think it's definitely going to make her stronger down the road. It's nice that she gains someone special at the end and without saying too much, I'm hoping she makes a couple of appearances in Della's last book.
I'm glad Della and Kylie got to go with Miranda to Paris. I don't think she could have made it through what she did without them. And I also liked that Della's story continued through this story instead of taking a nice break in between the second and third books. I hate it when story lines do that. But this just continues that story.
One thing I did miss, was that we didn't get much about Steve. We know he is in Paris with Perry, and he gets mentioned but that's all. But that's more for Della's story. Anywho since we're talking about boys I gotta say that even though Chase isn't in it that much he kinda grew on me. I'm a huge Steve fan and would much rather Della chose him instead. Chase has always bugged me in a way, but in this, in his short appearance I liked him a little more. Someone else we got to see was Shawn. And I gotta say, even though I love Perry, I really like Shawn. He's such a good guy and is really good for Miranda's self-esteem. Now don't get me wrong I want Miranda with Perry. It would be so wrong if they weren't. With that said I think Shawn has been really good for her while Perry has been gone. I just hate to see Shawn getting hurt in the end. I hope some random person pops up that he can be with. Now onto Perry, Perry, Perry, Perry. I kinda felt bad for him in this, with how tough Miranda is being towards him. I totally get why she is, but I totally get why Perry left and why he wouldn't take any of her phone calls. I do love that he doesn't let Miranda's attitude stop him from fighting for her. It's going to be fun to see how he try's to win her over in Della's final book. And the last guy I want to mention is Burnett. I know I mention him in almost all of my reviews but I just love that guy. It's so fun to see the growth he has made from Born at Midnight to now. He's one awesome dude.
After reading this I'm really hoping C.C. is going to continue these character's through Miranda's story. I just feel like there is more to be said where she is concerned. We'll probably get some closure in Della's final book, but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet. I think Miranda's story could be really, really good.
Anyway, I'm super excited to read Della's final book! And again, if you haven't given these books a try, or just this one, you need to! The world C.C. has made is amazing and it will keep you entertained until the very end!
I've been waiting for Miranda's book for a long time and this did not disappoint.
Miranda is still down since Perry broke up with her and went to Paris and feeling lost and unsure who she really is. But a deal from her mom that if she wins the witch competition she'll pay for Kylie and Della to go with her. How can she pass that up? But at that time she didn't know that someone was trying to kill off some of the contestants, and now that she's won she's got a target on her head. Not to mention a hot wizard she's had a crush on since childhood sent to watch over her messing with her emotions.
My only real complaint is that it was too short. I would love a full novel for Miranda. But what I love is how Miranda is growing more confident in herself. She is also getting better control over her dyslexia and her magic is getting stronger.
If you are a fan of the Shadow Falls series then you don't want to miss this novella. If you haven't read them then what are you waiting for?
I'm disappointed that we are not getting a little Trilogy for Miranda but this short story packs a punch for her character. The magic system Shadow Falls world would be fun to explore in depth. While the author still relies on a love triangle subplot to push the romance the rest of the story is engaging and well worth the price. I've always felt that Miranda was sort of the hidden power house only getting to shine a few times in any book. I do feel that the choice to have Perry supposedly break up with her in book 2 of the after dark series was done only two be able to have romantic Conflict for this novela. Still enjoyed the read.
